MSI Wind U100 http://metroshine.com/blog/2008/10/10/what-a-nice-mini-laptop-msi-wind-u100 http://metroshine.com/blog/2008/10/10/what-a-nice-mini-laptop-msi-wind-u100#comments Fri, 10 Oct 2008 00:19:07 +0000 Andrew Tseng http://metroshine.com/blog/?p=147 昨天(10/8)，總算買了一部 MSI 微星科技的迷你型筆計電腦Wind U100。原因有很多，但是，最主要的原因是，陪伴我四年的華碩電腦，在赴美留學（將近）兩年之後，終於掛點了。（但是，我想還是修得好的問題，應該是電源供應原件的問題，之前硬碟、記憶體、螢幕、鍵盤、觸控板都好好的）

完整的型號是MSI Wind U100-053US，是6-cell battery 的版本，這可是花了不少力氣才總算找到的款式，附Windows XP Home  Sp3，不是Linux。電池號稱可以撐5~5.5 hrs，不曉得，陸續使用多了才會知道。

這種小筆電被很多人詬病：螢幕太小、鍵盤不夠順手和擴充性，好像是幾項比較多人質疑的。

我個人認為，螢幕大小確實不大，但是對我的使用性來說不受影響。

  • 上課打筆記，打字多，看字少，螢幕只有10.2吋？對我來說，其實沒差。
  • 我之前用的是ASUS S5200N 12吋的，習慣了小尺寸畫面和輕薄型的電腦，叫我拿比1.6公斤還重的筆電，年紀越增加，只會越不願意（但是除非年紀增加到一個程度，視力開始退化）
  • 瀏覽網路畫面，夠清楚，雖然1024*600的解析度，就是擺明著要常常往下捲動，但是一樣沒差。少花點時間在網路瀏覽就可以節約時間。

鍵盤部分：

  • 它和Eee PC不同的地方，有幾個主要的與我有關。首先，Wind有右方的完整shift鍵，再來，最左下角的是Fn（功能鍵），過來才是Ctrl。這兩個對我來說，有助於打字的速度。因為我之前使用的華碩S5200N，最左下角的按鍵就是Fn功能鍵。因此，對於我這個喜歡用hotkeys的熱鍵男來說，這是很重要的。
  • 由於我接手一份翻譯的工作，打字的快捷也是相當重要的。迷你電腦的鍵盤雖小，但是不至於小到不利於打字或是常按錯鍵。這個鍵盤的配置號稱1.75cm的間距，因此相當足夠。

硬體及擴充性：

  • 配備已經有1GB RAM，看過很多網路文章都說要加裝記憶體不難。
  • 底部的螺絲孔有一個被貼上貼紙，因此，要自己拆掉加裝記憶體的話，等一年後再來弄也不遲。因為目前效能還不錯。
  • 硬碟80G (SATA 2.5G)對我來說也充足，我不像很多人會需要隨身帶什麼mp3或一堆影片檔案的，我就需要輕便、隨時可以打字（上課筆記、翻譯用途）
  • 很多Wind的使用在網路上分享說，買來後要先到微興網站上去更新無線網路卡的驅動程式，不然會有不穩現象。我沒有這方面的困難，因為我一開始使用的時候都是有線網路（比較快且穩定），其實用Windows update的功能，自然就會找到最新的Realtek無線網路晶片的驅動程式，選取、安裝即可！

其他功能：

  • 內建藍牙和webcam，蠻方便的。剛剛試著打開webcam功能然後當作鏡子照，整理儀容，不錯用。
  • 我喜歡有內建喇叭麥克風的功能，因為無線上網已經很普及了，對我而言，常出沒的三四個地方都有一直可以連線的無線網路。記得有一回手機沒電，需要打電話聯絡朋友，我就立即在我的SCU校園裡打開（當時還是華碩）筆電加上skype，連上網，然後把筆電摺成120度，捧在手上利用內建喇叭和麥克風好好地「講電話」，雖然是大台了點，但是功能已經達到了，這很重要。
  • USB左邊兩個，右邊一個。顯然是假定使用者是用右手操作滑鼠，左手邊用隨身碟之類的裝置。
  • 內建讀卡機，是我們數位相機的良伴！
  • 講一下功能鍵Fn + F11。它可以切換「僅無線網路」、「僅藍牙」、「無線+藍牙」、「全部關閉（飛航模式）」，一開始不知道，還找不到到底那個鈕才能開啟藍牙，後來才知是一組鍵，控制所有的無線裝置。
  • Fn + F6還可以開、關webcam，很特別的功能。
  • 攜帶便利性高。因為實在相當的輕！我已經習慣<1.6kg，這下子開始使用這部電腦，又會把我往後的標準變為更嚴苛了！

很惱人。就去網路上找了資訊。

果然有網友厲害，提出了解決方案。

因為這只出現在英文作業系統(Mine is Windows XP home Sp3) 下，安裝中文版的Office 2007才會有這樣的問題。

因此，解決的方法就是到 Start >> Program >> Microsoft Office >> Microsoft Office Tools >> Microsoft Office 2007 語言設定,

將「功能表」和「對話方塊」 從 English 改為 中文(繁體) 就可解決了！開心！然後打開 outlook 就不會再出現 vb script dll 的錯誤訊息。

加州議會眾議院及參議院通過法案 AB 2567，現在正等待州長阿諾做最後的決定，簽署或否決。此法案如果通過成為法律，加州的公立學校將定每年的五月廿二日為特定日，慶祝同性戀政治人物Harvey Milk。Harvey Milk 即將被推崇為像是美國的制憲元勳和馬丁路德一樣的人物，事實上眾所周知他最引以為傲的是他是一位同性戀者！如果您從未聽過這個法案那是因為大多數持自由主義觀點的媒體刻意將它輕描淡寫，讓它能夠通過。

AB 2567 has passed the California Assembly and the Senate and is awaiting Governor Schwarzenegger’ s signature or veto. This bill will set aside May 22 as a special day to celebrate the life of homosexual politician, Harvey Milk, in the public schools. If signed into law, AB 2567 will mean an official day commemorating homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality in California government schools. This will harm children as young as children as young as kindergarten.  The Democrats are so cocky, they have no qualms about pushing sexual indoctrination upon children in an election year.
